Quotient Sciences

Quotient Sciences is a drug development and manufacturing accelerator supporting customers from candidate selection to commercial launch.

Our task was to create compliant pharmaceutical development laboratories, associated offices, and a new breakout area.

Quotient Sciences needed extra laboratory space for their pharmaceutical - formulation and inhalation - development work at the existing site in Reading. They also required additional office space and a new kitchen/breakout area for the growing number of staff.

After consultation with the management and laboratory teams we came up with a compliant solution to create new laboratories in the existing warehouse by installing a new mezzanine floor. Assessment of their process flow, equipment and risks allowed us to provide the appropriate ventilation, fume cupboard ducting, emergency shower and segregation from the existing GMP facility.

New open plan office, meeting rooms and a toilet block were constructed on their existing mezzanine floor whilst allowing for some natural light in the enclosed space. A modern, contemporary breakout area was created within the existing office space- to the absolute delight of the staff.

All this work was carried out in phases taking particular care to not disrupt their ongoing pharmaceutical programmes.
