ARC
Project Goal
Our client ARC was created by Brookfield, a leading global alternative asset manager with over 120 years’ experience and focus on real estate, renewable power, infrastructure, and private equity.
ARC concentrate innovation companies in Advanced Research Clusters — place-based clusters at the leading edges of major knowledge economies like Oxford and London. They’re unique ecosystems that accelerate commercial growth by providing the best possible working environments for their members. Offices, coworking, cleanrooms, accelerator labs, and leading open access R&D facilities —flexible science-ready spaces within green, energising environments and community events in places designed to motivate and inspire.
Our task was to create a compliant (CL2) fitted laboratory space ready for life sciences clients and associated office space.
Skills & Results
Building 7400 is a detached two storey lab/office building. We were asked to design and deliver a self-contained high quality fully fitted CL2 lab suite (part first floor).
By utilising our experience of working with life sciences/biotech clients we designed separate lab and office areas in approx. 60:40 ratio. Labs are comprised of separate rooms for general activities and tissue culture/analysis purposes and a utility/store area with goods-in access.
Facility is equipped with Trespa benching, gas distribution pipework, vulcathene drainage, cat 5 water, lab level lighting and is perfectly suited for life sciences research.
A small kitchenette and breakout area with separate office space makes it an independent and unique space for early-stage companies in Oxford’s knowledge quarter.
