Sense was founded in 2014 with a vision to improve peoples' lives by bringing powerful tools for fast, accurate and affordable diagnostics into the hands of everyday users.
It is widely accepted that empowering clinicians and consumers with point-of-care diagnostic tests will lead to improvements in patient treatment and well-being. Rather than trying to re-purpose the approaches and instruments used in the central laboratory for this purpose, Sense are developing novel technologies that combine the power of laboratory tests with the simplicity and ease of use of low-cost consumer products.
Skills & Results
This rapidly growing medical devices company, focussed on redefining diagnostics, chose the up and coming Abingdon Science Park for their R&D operations.
We worked with the landlord and developer Kadans Science Partner and the Sense team in designing the facility including R&D labs and modern office space.
The laboratories' bespoke design involved provision of CL2 labs with a ducted fume cupboard, along with some containment level 3 compliant space. A customised MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) strategy was devised and installed to cater for Sense’s processes and the service demands of each individual area.
Kadans and the Sense team were delighted with the open, bright, and high-quality finished facility.
